Bio
Iām Eetu Vekki, an artist based in Helsinki, and I work across various artistic disciplines, moving fluidly across fine arts, sound, and performance. In my practice I combine knowledge from my education in fine arts and music with experience in performing arts as an audiovisual designer. My recent work has appeared in solo and group exhibitions, live performances, and collaborative projects.
I have a fascination with the forces of nature: how we as humans perceive and react to natural phenomena beyond our comprehension, how the perception of nature shapes us, and how, in return, we shape the environment. My works explore the dynamics of human presence within broader networks of life and energy, drawing inspiration from nature and elemental phenomena. With my art, I aim to evoke new perspectives and contemplation on our place within the broader context of our shared environments.
I have a masters degree in fine arts from the Fine Arts Academy in Helsinki with erasmus studies at Iceland University of Arts in 2020, and previously trained in music at both the Pop & Jazz Conservatory and Metropolia University in Helsinki.
